When carving my pumpkin this year I decided to play up the lantern part of the jack-o-lantern and carved a lantern fish (or angler fish). It is kind of like the scene in Finding Nemo where Marlin and Dory are transfixed by a beautiful blue light that is dangling right in front of a pair of big scary jaws. Just part of the fish is illuminated by it's lure and the little fish are staring at the light.

Here is is at night

I hit this rocks because this is very cool!  I love all the little fishies staring at his "light". The only thing that would make it better is somehow sticking a blue led in where the light should be.  But still, the pumpkin is awesome as is!

I hadn't even read your captions yet, when I thought "OMG, Finding Nemo!"

That is soo cool, way more creative than anything I've ever seen on a pumpkin.  Cheesy Hitting this rocks, cuz it does!

That's a really cool idea.  After I was done I realized I should have cut the center of the lure part out so that it would look more like it was glowing.  It was way too thin and fragile though.

This is BY FAR the creepiest pumpkin yet. It REALLY looks EXACTLY like that terrifying angler from finding nemo. I heart that movie but I'm 20 years old and that part STILL scares the jeepers out of me.

I love it! I will definitely have to add this to my list of possible jack o'lanterns for this year...I'm going to send a link to this to my labmates (I'm an ichthyologist).
