while on vacation this summer my boyfriend saw a t-shirt with this logo on it and got really excited about it...until he realized the picture was on the back and it had MACKINAC ISLAND splattered on the front. ick. since i'd already been interested in stencling and just hadn't come up with a decent first project, i informed my boy it would be easy enough (in theory) to make. he looked at me like i was crazy, i don't think he thought i could/would really do it. and i did procrastinate a little bit...but i finally made it! and he was very very excited when i gave it to him, so i'm happy.

made with a plain t-shirt bought at meijers, bleach we had laying around the house and a handmade freezer paper stencil. it didn't take very long, the only thing that really took time was cutting out all the letters.

This is so awesome!! Very nicely done, and I like the bleach splatters. Not to mention it being pirate themed makes it even more great! Tongue Cheesy

Fabulous.

I'll bet it took some time to cut out those letters - they are very skinny.  Did you use an exacto knife?

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

yea, i put the freezer paper over styrofoam so i could cut right through it. i probably would've cried if i was trying to cut it on something solid like a cutting board!

Hmmm, never thought of that.  I don't have a particularly steady hand.  That sounds like it would be a great help.  Thanks for the tip.

I love it when we make up our own stencils, it makes it so much more fun, or at least that's what I tell myself when my finger feels like it's about to fall off.
Great shirt. Wink
