I don't have a Springform pan, so what is a good substitute for one? I'm making an ice-cream cake that calls for one.

You can try a round cake pan lined in parchment paper. I have done that in a pinch.

I actually went to Wal-Mart to buy a Springform pan, but they didn't have one... or at least I couldn't find it!

Maybe you can just get one of those aluminium foil pans?

If it's ice cream, you can line your form with plastic foil (saran wrap) ou waxed paper (in this last case, just the bottom, so the border remains neat).
