I carved this pumpkin tonight and I am so PUMPED about how it turned out! This is the first time I've tried anything like this and I actually had to go out to the craft store and get some ceramics tools to do it. (Can you tell this has been on my mind for a while?)

So without further ado, my untraditional pumpkin:

If you have any questions, feel free to ask! This was definitely a learning experience for me. (Now let's see how quick it rots... Wink)

I'd say it took me about 2 hours, give or take a few minutes.  The hardest part was getting started. Pumpkin skin is amazingly difficult to scrape off but once you get to the nice soft yellow part it's easy as pie. Smiley

That is so cool. The best pumpkins I can do are the ones from a kit, haha. I'd love to see it all lit up!

HOLY CARP!!!!!  That's AMAZING!!!  Have you put a candle in it to see how it lights up yet?  And is there any kind of sealant you can put on the exposed flesh to make it last a little longer?

That is awesome.

If it lives in the water or flies in the air, I'm in love with it. In New Zealand I saw a flying fish and almost wet myself.

That's fantastic!  I tried a pumpkin like this once but it turned out nowhere near as good.  Great work!
