After my knit & felted iPod cozy got trashed, I decided to make a new one out of felt. Here's what I came up with:

Double layered wool felt with elastic and button closures (and a bottom "hatch" for charging). It's version 1.0 since I think I can do a better and neater job and I'd like to try it with thicker, industrial felt. I'm also not quite happy with the earbud pocket:

Anybody have any suggestions for earbud pockets that would actually protect the earbuds without being too bulky? Thanks!

***UPDATE***
While trying to improve my marginal design this weekend, I drafted a nice pattern and took some pictures. What to do with photos and a pattern? Try my hand at making a tutorial. It has 1.6 gazillion pictures, so I posted it here.

I wouldn't say I improved the cozy... but I did fully document it. Meh.

I like the design of it, it's clever and looks like it'd be very functional (I might have to try something similar for my nano!)

that's great! too many cases don't allow for charging inside the case. i may have to try one!

btw - where did you find the felt? i've been looking for wool felt for bags and can't find it locally.

This is such an awesome idea! I too need to make a case for my cell phone with an opening at the bottom for charging it, and one for my IPod Shuffle. I'm always losing that thing because it's so little! Love it!

I ordered the felt from jcarolinecreative.c om- they have both wool and wool blends. Beware, though, they have so much great stuff (rick rack by the yard!) that I always end up buying waaaay to much when I order from them  Smiley

I've also seen wool blends at my local Joanns fabric, but I think it's just 20% wool. Now if I could just find some extra thick felt...

I love it!  I just got an Ipod for my birthday, and was just today thinking to make a cover.  This is so cute!  Would you be willing to give a little tut?  Wink
