This was my drummer friend's Christmas present- I just bought a pair of sticks (I lucked out, they were 50% off for Christmas!) and woodburned his title of choice, Todd the Bod, into them.  Of course, you could go with any name....

I bet your friend will love them. Did you paint them golden, or had they this color when you buyed them. I'm sure, the color reminds everyone on christmas. but it could also mean that your friend is such a good drummer that he only deserves golden drumsticks  Roll Eyes

Very cool!  Grin

And good idea to woodburn them instead of painting since paint can be slippery and flake off easily if the recipient is a wild crazy drummer like my husband.  Smiley

Great job! I play the drums but don't know how to wood burn! I guess I'll have to get my brother to burn my name into them!

hmm, a soldering iron sounds like it might work, I think the only difference is the tip (woodburners have more of a blade-ish tip I think?)  You could probably do it without even burning em if you etched it with some sharp object, and then painted black where you etched it (the paint shoudn't scratch off if it's down in grooves)
