These are some old buttons that I painted with fingernail polish. I know most of you out there probably have much more interesting colors of nail polish.



I got the idea from a wonderful book called fabric leftovers by D'Arcy-Jean Milne.

OMG, I love those! I never would have thought to paint buttons, and I have a million in colors I don't like. That rocks.

Those are pretty nifty! i do have lots of lots of nail polish....but only some many nails....OH hey! I have a lot of buttons. thanx for the great idea.

are you gonna seal them with something? Id imagine nailpolish would chip off really easily.

I just sealed them with clear nail polish per the instructions in the book. I will probably use them for a craft rather than clothing project so I don't imagine they will get a lot of wear. I really don't know what you would seal them with if you did want to use them for clothing. Sorry.
