This is a bag I made for my mom from a hand-me-down jacket that my aunt gave me. I moved the buttons from the jacket into the stitching pattern that was already there. The lining is from a hand-me-down shirt from my mom.

It is so cute.

What was the coat made out of?  Wool?  Was it difficult to sew through layers of the fabric?

I would love to see the inside too. The outside is so hip and modern. I love it.

Nice design work. The dimensions look perfect for carrying magazines (said the reading junkie.)

It is some sort of knit that is not real stretchy, but I did iron stabilizer onto the back, because the it had more drape than I would want in a bag and because I wanted to be sure those white stitches (I think they are a very fine ribbon) would not come out.

I would love to see the inside too. The outside is so hip and modern. I love it.

I am sorry. I did not think of it when I was there. Sigh. It is striped in three different grays from very light to very dark. I put in one pocket.

From one reading junkie to another: It would be just right for that.

Love how you incorporated the design of the jacket into the tote.  Great job!
