Have you ever gone to a large event - like the zoo, the fair, etc and then when you're ready to leave, have trouble finding your vehicle in the masses - because it seems that EVERYONE has a vehicle that looks like yours?Huh?

Well, have I got the answer!  Works great, too!  I apologize that I don't have pics at a large gathering so the backyard pic will just have to do, but it's wonderful!  I even now use my car as the 'meeting' place when we have group visits at the zoo - my car is so obvious!  Smiley

no more wandering up and down aisles trying to figure out just where I parked. . .

the zoo or the fair?  I lose my car when I go to the grocery store or target!
This idea is great!  Now that I drive a car that (it seems) everyone else has, I'm forever forgetting where I parked or thinking that someone else's car is mine.
I'm going to have to think about doing something like this...it would save me SO much time!

That is such a good idea.  I have spent twenty minutes looking for my car in parking lots, usually in the mall, but umm... sometimes whenever I park my car.  This may be a must make.   Smiley

...or you could paint your car a blinding lime green!

It definitely sticks out in a parking lot full of silver and grey cars! Smiley

Or pink like mine !  Never fail to lose her Smiley

The flag is a great idea - your car will be hard to loose.  I think I'd be worried that someone would nick it!

my dh would LOVE a bug!!!!  that or a mini cooper!

sadly those vehicles are not  enough for me and my kids and all that we need for them. . .. (SN kids)

i'm not worried about someone taking my flag.  if they do, they'll end up using it themselves and i'll just take it back, lol.

at least that's the plan.  so far we've used it for a couple of months and no one has messed with it.  ALTHOUGH i have heard people referencing my car w/flag as their looksee for finding their car, lol.  i always wonder about that - esp since we don't stay all day at the zoo, etc. . ..  do they ever find THEIR car again?  LOL

thanks for the feedback.  i thought it was a good idea and works well, but i wasn't sure - insecure you know. . .what the 'real' world would think. . .

Do the magnets scratch the paint? I know if I suggested something like this to my parents, my dad would veto it straight away cos he'd be worried about scratches. Otherwise I think this is a great idea Cheesy

hehe great idea! I lose my car all the time. Like someone else said, even at the grocery store! It might be because it looks the same as everyone else's. I came out of the post office one day to find a woman mistakenly sitting in my car reading her mail. That'll teach me not to lock the door.

i've thought about that and 2 things.  one - i don't care as it's on top of my roof where i can't see it and 2, if it DOES scratch, I DO have a handy dandy bottle of scratch fixer upper that i can put on if i notice scratches.

although, originally my plan was to cover teh base with a very thin fabric - like cheesecloth or a flat diaper (yeah i cloth diaper so those are handy, lol) wrapped around the base.  so far, i haven't bothered.

i'm living dangerously.  Smiley

the base and flag easily separate and are stored in my vehicle so it's easy to grab and stick on top of car when i get out of vehicle and unhook the kids, i just grab that, too and plop, it's on top.  Smiley

i doubt anyone will steal it.  if they do, i'll just take it back next time i see them at the zoo, whatever USING it, lol.

ps too funny about the person sitting in your car!  i did something similar with my old car - a green subaru outback when we lived in alaska - EVERYONE there drives subaru's and it seemed like at the time everyone's was green with a roof rack like mine, lol.  I put the key in door, opened door (i'm guessing it wasn't locked??) and got in.  I realized the seat was in a different position than when i left and when i looked over on the seat next to me, there were different things there - which made me look closer at the vehicle interior to realize it WASN'T my CAR!  EEKS!

glad to know i'm not the only idiot out there. . ..

i HAVE gone to the wrong mini van, too in the past, even got as far as opening the sliding door and realizng that it was wrong - I have lots of child car seats, the van i looked in didn't, but it was just as dirty so they must have had kids, too, lol.

realized afterwards that THAT van didn't have a white stripe on it - mine does. . . .my son pointed that out to me. . . .sigh. . ..

so you see why a flag is necessary for me.  Smiley
