I finally finished my first Sheldon, aka Turtle!  He's gigantic, but oh so cute!  I think his blue hue makes him rather fetching, if I do say so myself:)  Hurray for knit toys!

Yarn: Knit Picks Shine [60% pima cotton, 40% modal; 110 yds/ 101 m per 50g skein]; color: 23621 Sky; 1 skein - and - Knit Picks Shine [60% pima cotton, 40% modal; 110 yds/ 101 m per 50g skein]; color: 23619 Turquoise; less than 1 skein

Care: machine wash cold, tumble dry low

Needles: US 4 / 3.50 mm double-points, US 4 / 3.50 mm straight

Pattern: Ruth Homrighaus

Modifications: I used more MC than CC with the harness so I could finally purge it from my stash! I also didn't have safety eyes, so I embroidered them on using embroidery floss in navy blue.

Thanks a lot, cranberry and littleblue girl!

While I found Sheldon fun to make, I have to say I found the directions a little complicated at times.  Particularly the shell and harness which required seaming and crocheting, neither of which I am particularly good at.  The actual knitting for the body and limbs was pretty easy.  A lot of counting, though!  The finished product definitely makes all the puzzled moments worth it!

That turned out cute.  I made this pattern for my cousin's baby for christmas.  I unfortunately didn't get any pictures since I got all my presents finished at the last minute.  I like this pattern, but I agree with you that there were a few times that I just sat there looking at the pattern all confused.

Cute!
I made some Sheldons, I never did figure out the instructions for attaching the shell top to the shell bottom, so I just put the i-cord on the top and sewed the bottom on.
