Since the kawasaki rose is way way too hard for me (I think i might be a little slow when it comes to paper folding) I decided to make 3d flowers for my vases another way.  By glueing two together.

I used http://www.oriland.com/studio/diagram.asp?ID=Jasmine to make each flower, then i glued two together and popped them on a stick, and voila instant decoration!

now if I could just figure out that stupid rose!

They are pretty!  Good for you- everything I've ever made was too wrinkly from over-folding/unfolding.

Your flowers are lovely.  They look so nice they way you've paired them up.

I know what you mean about that rose, I still can't get it either.
But there are some rosebud patterns that are easier.
Try this one:  http://www.bloom4ever.com/howto/howto01.htm
It was the first one I was ever able to make.
And now I crank out Kawasaki's Rosebud (check out the book Roses, Origami & Math) in only a couple of minutes.  People think I'm nuts!

Thank you very much midnyte and everyone else!  I'll have to try that rosebud, it looks way less intimidating
