This year for Halloween, I decided I want to be Snow White.

Here's what it looks like so far. I did NOT make the shirt, I bought it... But I am planning on making light blue poofy (bigger) sleeves, with the red tear drop shapes. (You know, like Snow White's sleeve Cheesy ) [Yay for re-cons]

I've finished! I ended up thrifting for a light blue and a red dress shirt. Then I cut them up to make the sleeves, and the tear drop shaped decorative bits. It was quite a bother to pin and sew the sleeves. (My mom helped me get started). Then I found fabric glue and glued the red bits on.

I also made the headband (covered an old one w/ red ribbon), and made the tutu...

Tutorial for the tutu provided by the lovely ambrosialove on Flickr. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ambrosialove/522118984/in/photostream/)
I love her so much for providing this tutorial.

Thanks for all the nice comments (:

Yeah, I saw the tutorial for the tutu and decided I had to make one... so I thought I'd make the Snow White dress into a tutu. The classic Snow White costume is rather difficult to make... I have no idea how to make the neck part. (It's kind of like those dog anti-scratch cones)

I'm really glad you guys can tell who I am though! (: I think it'll be more instinctive once I fix up the sleeves.

i'm planning on making a tutu from that tutorial, but i'm still not sure on length/amounts. how much tulle/netting did you use? and just one layer? and what is the length ? sorry so many questions, i'm just afraid i'm going to screw it up royally lol.

I got 6 yards, but the individual pieces are pretty far apart. I think I should've gotten 8 yards or so. I mean, it's still poofy, but there are gaps where there isn't tulle.

I only used one layer, and I just used the width of the tulle (45"), folded in half. (Then knotted on, like the tutorial). I didn't knot every piece at the centre, so there's a bit of visual interest.
