OK, I want to make a 'in a box' for my niece. I raised her for 6 years and I still remember the day she was born and now she's turning 13!!! Sad She's way to informed and mature for my likings and she knows that it bothers me, but that I'm there for her through everthing and anything. Anyway, I pick on her for being all grown up and she picks on me for babying her so much... Tongue She's a diva, wants to be a model, boy crazy, sporty, tough, SPOILED, etc...

I was thinking something along the lines of "STOP GROWING UP in a box" (gotta be a better title though LOL) Here's my ideas so far....

Pepper Spray & Emergency whistle (to fend off the boys)
Funny T shirts (Boys BACK OFF or something silly like that)
Pacifier/Baby Bottle candies
Playlist of silly songs we both like from Veggie Tails, etc...
Teady Bear
Sleepover kit (with me, not her ghetto friends Tongue )
Disney type movie

Anything else?

Hi!
This is what I'm sending my boyfriend for his birthday:

(Click images to see them in lager format)

The story goes like this:
I lived in Madrid for 6 months and met this guy. When I went home to Stockholm in september we kept on together, and we have now been 5 months on long distance (I went to see him for Christmas though.) He has never been to Sweden, but has now finally got the tickets for coming here in easter. His birthday is in February, so to keep his spirits up and make him look forwards to the trip even more, I made him this STOCKHOLM SURVIVAL KIT.

It includes:
*Stockholm map, with comments and my favve places marked.
*Museum guide with a voucher for an entrance ticket.
*Photo guide to my closest family and friends who he will meet for the first time.
*Cinema voucher.
*Voucher for entrance to the climbing gym (my second home) and a private class.
*A pin saying "please don't talk to me" (He said he wanted one of those since he doesn't speak Swedish and his English isn't too good. It was just a joke, but I thought it silly enough to make him the pin.)
*Some relaxing tea (he is a bit nervous about meeting my family and worries that he will not understand what they say)
*Swedish candy (lakrits) (he doesn't like it much, but it is very typical)
*Chocolate (to make up for sending him candy he doesn't like)
*A pack of sugar (he is used to have muffins and biscuits for breakfast, not sandwiches and all bran cereal and yogurt like us)
*A match box with a picture of the front of a book on it. (I'm sending him the book in a separate package, since I had to buy it over the internet from Spain in order to get it in Spanish, and it seemed like a waste to have it sent to Sweden just to send it all the way back. Expensive too)

All the things have little noted on them, decorated with the skyline of Stockholm.

here is what I put together for my redneck in a box.

The actual box was an 18-can camouflage cooler from Bass Pro.
Inside:
An article from Bass Pro about training a gun dog(my boyfriend wants to get a lab)
A "Redneck" Cookbook with the Top Ten Recipes from Paula Deen's website(printed and stapled together a la redneck style)
A copy of Bill Engvall's Here's Your Sign
Boat Letters so he can finally name his boat
A Shrek fishing rod Bobber.(we are called Shrek and Fiona by family)
A pack of deodorizing gum
WD-40
Camouflage ductape
Vanilla truck fresheners
Camouflage license plate frame
Gummy Worms
Sour Gummy Worms
Swedish Fish (you know, worms and fish for fishing  Wink )
Beef Jerky
Jumbo Honey Bun
King of the Hill Boxers that talk about beer
Cars movie utensil set to take on his hunting trips

What do yall think? Sound like a good present?I'm giving it to him tomorrow. If I can get to a computer with a USB port that works I'll post pictures.

any ideas for 'skiing in a box'?

Definitely some of those little handwarmer packets that you can buy at outdoors stores.

And gourmet hot chocolate packets for apres-ski warm ups.

knit/crochet a hat/scarf/whatever.  i guess that's a litle obvious thought.  you can get travel mugs that you can insert pictures and stuff in.  sunscreen & chapstick- the ones you can clip onto something

It also depends on the accommodations.  Last year when my ex-boyfriend (he was my boyfriend at the time) went skiing, he stayed in a cabin that had a fireplace.  I included makings for s'mores in his road trip care package.  I also put in a few cds of road music for him.  And a deck of cards and some books of mad libs to pass the time in the evenings, since there wasn't much to do.

I've also decided to make 'American Pie in a box' for my best friend...we listen to that song all the time hehehe.

How would one go about doing that? My best friend and I also love American Pie. (Also I could make her a Rocky Raccoon in a box, because we love that song as well).

My boyfriend's birthday is coming up in a month. He's really into politics (a poli sci major) and especially a huge supported of Barack. Does anyone have any ideas for a politics in a box or... political science in a box? Something along those lines?

If not that, maybe a music lover in a box or philly sports fan in a box?
I know these two were already sort of touched upon. Anyone who lives in or around philly knows how much it hurts to be a fan of any sports team there. (Especially this year)

It doesn't matter what I know how to do now, I'll make any good idea happen if I can! Thanks for any help!
