I love this idea! It's so great and so perfect because I still need to get my best friend something and before this I had no idea as to what to buy her...

My friend is a girl and she plays electric guitar. She loves music a great deal and is sort of emo/punk ... She likes to dye and cut her own hair, she has piercings and stretched ear lobes...

I want to do Rockstar in a Box for her, here are my ideas for it so far:
-Blank CD's
-Sharpies
-Safety pins
-Guitar picks

I'm not exactly sure if she writes songs or not.. she may and just not tell me about it... I was thinking of perhaps making her a guitar pick bracelet or something of that sort but I'm not exactly sure if she'd wear it... Do you have any other ideas?

for the postcard swap, I made some giant guitar picks that I cut out of the side of a plastic juice bottle....then I thought, they would be cool hanging on the wall...I'm a big Ani Difranco fan...so I have a really cool picture of Ani that I got off the web and hung up like a small poster...then I have giant pink guitar picks on either side with images from some of her albums mod podged on! So you could do something similar to that effect for your friend if she likes posters and stuff on the walls!  Wink

For Rockstar in a Box:

Do you knit?  If you do, there's a guitar strap pattern over at knitty.com (I'm sure you could sew one too).  You might ask if she writes songs, and if she does, bind her a book of the proper paper (perhaps a record book).

Also, if you're willing to go for totally tasteless jokes, you could throw a bottle of liquor in there, in grand Rockstar tradition.  Smiley

here's some random sites I've found, and of curse there's always ebay.com and amazon.com in which you can sometimes find a good deal on stuff! That's all I got!  Cheesy

hello all...

i was thinking i had a few friends that like tea/coffee and putting together a box with tea related items (as they are weaning themselves off the coffee!).

if you have any other things that would be great for a tea drinker, please add.

here are a few things i'm thinking about putting in the boxes:
tea ball
loose tea
coco mix?
chai mix?
chocolate dipped spoons (i hear these are popular)
sugar cubes or sugar packets
mug / thermos
if i can, i'd like to get little tiny shakers and put ground cinnamon and cloves

but then i'm also thinking, some may already have these things in their homes.

well, anyhow, any comments or add ons are greatly appreciated! thanks!

you could get them some of those teeth whitener toothpastes or kits (theyre kinda expensive though) or some vics nyquil to settle down the caffeine - i dunno but it helps my lil sis get to sleep when she doesnt feel good

if you have a friend thats on a diet or is a health nut then you could get ....
a bunch of vitamins
diet pills
then on the front of the box get a bunch of fat people pictures and write before on all of them and then on the inside put all these bodybuilders and stuff and write after
then make al list of all the 1-800- numbers that you see on tv about losing weight -
then put a bunch of chocolate and candies in a bag and make a note saying cravings and put an x throough it like in a no smoking ad and then put a padlock around the bag
it could be called the "dont give up" or "theres still hope" box

just some ideas hope it helps
