Cropped Carie Cardi (and matching hat)

Hi everyone!



This is the Carie Cropped Cardi from Fitted Knits. I couldn't find the recommended yarn (Cascade Magnum) So I used Brown Sheep Burly Spun. It is an xmas gift for an 11 year old, and I think she'll like the colour a lot. I'm attempting an entirely handmade holiday,so she'll be getting this set, and a Harry Potter scarf.



I expected it to take a while, but I think I knit both the cardigan and the hat in one weekend.  Super fast knit. The hat is a modified cabled helmet from Vogue Knitting on the Go: Chunky Hats and Scarves. I went down from a 10mm to a 5mm, and added a pattern repeat. And didn't do the earflaps for it.
