Cookie Jar Swap?

I know it's been tossed around here before a while ago but I thought that I'd give it a shot again.

I was thinking that we would decorate a jar, coffee tin, or anything. Take for example this awesome planter cupcake

You'd send it to your partner along with a batch of your best cookies. Maybe send along two or three decorated recipe cards with your favorite cookie recipes on them. You'd also send your partner a small crafted item related to cookies somehow. This crafted item could be either baking goods or non baking related items such as cookie stitch markers, cookie amigurumis, felt cookies, etc.

Covered in a thin layer of polymer clay

If I get enough interest I'll start one up prolly around the beginning of August so let me know what ya think.

August may be perfect timing too!...Only downside is shipping something 'melty' in August heat...perhaps start signups at the end of August and ship towards end of Sept?

I totally dig this idea!  But would it have to be cookies, or just home-made sweets?  Not trying to throw a wrench in the works, but I've got some non-cookie recipes I've been dying to try!

Yeah! I would like to contribute something other than cookies as well (even though I've got one of those recipes for 'almost better than sex chocolate chip cookies) ...I'd rather make candy! I make it every year for the family as well as my church's annual holiday bazaar! I created a cute label for the top of the jars too!

It is grandma's recipe...and she used to make the candy every year to help pay for xmas presents for her 5 kids! Good times...fond memories!

It shouldn't melt in the August heat either!

Of course you could send something other than cookies. Ideally, it would be something that would, or could be stored in the cookie jar/tin, but you could send anything you want. If your partner is ok with it, you could send a jar full of felted cookies or sweets too and maybe your recipe cards could be tutorial on how you made your felted cookies. I'm all about making the swap work for you and your partner.

Oh I hadn't even thought of that!  They would make for good toys for my DD!

I bookmarked this cause I wanna mull it over for a while. It sounds like a neat-oh swap, love, love, love the idea, but I just need to see where I'm at come the end of August.

BTW, that hand-painted jar is gorgeous, dalink!
