This is my first tutorial so I hope it comes out alright.

Materials you will need: http://gallery.mac.com/ram02#100030/IMG_0504
zip ties (clear or white)
white rope made of synthetic material (quantity depends on how big you make it)
scissors
tent stakes (mine are yellow because they were the cheapest, but they make metal and glow in the dark as well)

Step 1:
http://gallery.mac.com/ram02#100030/IMG_0507
Lay out a spiral of rope on the ground. Make it as big as you'd like but remember you will need the space to put it up in.

Step 2:

Lay out strips of rope on top of the spiral in an asterisk. (You can add more if you want, but you need at least 3 strips for it to look correct.)

Step 3:

At each intersection, use a zip tie to connect the ropes. Make sure to have all of the tails coming out on the same side. This way, you will have a finished and an unfinished side of the web.

Step 4:

Snip off the tails of the zip ties.

Step 5:

Hang the web from trees or anything handy. Stake it off in the ground or anchor it somehow if you are doing it indoors.

Don't forget your spider for the finishing touch! Mine is from walgreens. The legs bend so they hook on to the web easily.
