I tried doing a search for this but do you know how many times PM is used on this board  Grin

What I'm wondering is:

1) is there a limit for the number of PMs you can have in your inbox at one time?

2) I've heard that you can sort your PMs and I wonder if someone can give me directions on how to do this
or point me to a tutorial.

THANKS!

I just checked and I have 1500 pm's in the box right now (yeah, I am HORRIBLE about deleting them!) so I think there probably isn't a limit.  or if there is, you probably don't need to worry about it.  Smiley

I'm just as bad as Kategirl! Grin  I haven't hit a limit yet.

I know you can sort them some way, but don't know how - maybe sweets4ever will stop in and educate us all. Smiley

Some members have problems (weird errors) when they get over 100.  I've never had that problem & I've never hit a limit.  I don't care to admit how many I have in my Inbox!! Cheesy

Yes, you can "label" PMs, which is essentially putting them into folders.  I'll write up a much cleaner tutorial in the morning, but I think you can get the idea from reading this post and a few that follow http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=111313.msg1189191#msg1189191  Posted! Smiley

Okay, here's the basics...
  • Go to your Personal Messages
  • Under Preferences, click on Manage Labels
  • From here you can add, edit and delete the labels used in your personal message center.  It's pretty self-explanatory.

To apply labels...
  • Go to your Inbox
  • From here you can label individually or in bulk:
    >>To label in bulk - at the top of the screen, select the check boxes to the right of the messages you'd like to apply your label.  From the "Label Selected" dropdown menu, select the label you'd like to apply.
    >>To label individually - go to a particular message and select the dropdown menu.

Labelling places a copy of the message into the label folder you apply to it.  If you'd like to remove the copy from your Inbox, follow the same steps from the list above, but select the "Remove Label Inbox" from the dropdown menu.

Note:  If no other labels are applied to a message and you remove the Inbox label, then you will delete the message entirely.

thank you so much for that! Now I've got a "swaps" label to toss the initial PM with my partner's info and address in! So much easier than trying to sort through my inbox! Cheesy

Your welcome!

I'm glad it all made sense.  It's kinda crazy at first.

I have "Current Swaps" and "Archived Swaps" that I dump into.  It's definitely helpful.

I was actually wondering the same thing, although I have no where near than many PMs.

I'm so glad that we can label messages - my brain gets confused when I can't organize things nicely  Cheesy
