I work a lot on production designing and art directing for community theater and independent/student films.. I think it would be interesting to have a place to talk about making prop guns, fake blood, turning your ugly apartment into something that looks like a penthouse without spending penthouse levels of money.... The sort of things that are specific to the "illusion" of art direction (since a lot of specific projects on other boards are about making the "real thing")

I've used craftster a LOT in my research for projects, but it would be cool to have a board where you can discuss the illusions we can make with a glue gun and some scrap materials.

Any thoughts?

I'm the Costume Crew Chair for my school's Theater Group and I've had so many problems making dresses look period appropriate and fit well.  Consequently I've learned tons of tips to deal with the way the bottom of a dress falls, altering dresses to change the silhouette, and adding length when there is no more fabric to let out.  I think having a place to discuss these things would be great and I'm sure I could learn a lot as well.

Just introduced a friend to the site and this is a major area for him.  Even if it was just a child board under miscellaneous.  It would definitely take care of some "where does this fit"  also as a theatre person I would love seeing what was posted. Smiley

Oh yeah! I work on short parody films for a science fiction convention, and I've posted some props I made in the Miscellaneous section, but it would be cool to have a child board.
