Hello!
This is my first post though I am a long time lurker. I used some of Jenny Harts' patterns to embroider a set of pillowcases for my best friend's Xmas present. For a first try, I am very proud of how it turned out. Recently I had a lot of uninterrupted time while recovering from having all 4 wisdom teeth pulled, and this was the perfect way to get through it!
My favorite aspects are the mermaid's teeny eyelashes, the gold thread I used in the treasure chest, and- though it's hard to see- the mean pirate has a bloody knife. I have heard other people mention on craftster that metallic thread was a pain to work with, and they were right! But now that it's over I'm glad I used it.
Well anyway, I'm thrilled to be showing something off, and I appologize for the poor quality pictures! xoxo

Wow, that doesn't look like the work of a beginner.  Very cute!  Metallic thread is a pain but it looks so cool when you're done.  The finished work almost makes it worth the pain and cussing.

Those look really cute! When I buy the pirates Sublime Stitching pattern I'll have to embroider the pirate and Jack Sparrow's name on a pillow!

Her hair is just plain old chain stitch, made with two shades of blue (for fancy highlights...) The only stitches I used on the whole thing are chain, satin, and a scallop. I tried to add some french knots, but haven't figured out how to do them yet.

By the way, thanks for all the compliments everybody! It put a ridiculous grin on my face. Cheesy

Oh! I love her green and blue hair!! Her face is so pretty, and I love your chunky chain stitches. Gorgeousness and gorgeosity.
