I'm knitting the Hedgerow Coat from the Fall 2007 IK for a friend of mine.  I'm not very good at reading charted patterns and I REALLY need some help from someone who is.

Basically the problem I'm having is I don't know when to repeat the cable on the chart.  You knit row 1-32 and repeat, but after row 12 the only part the chart shows is the center panel.  When am I supposed to put another cable in to it?  From the pictures there's not huge gaps between the cables so I know they're supposed to be in there somewhere.  If anyone can help me wrap my mind around this I'd be so appreciative!  Maybe I'm just not awake enough to figure out how simple it is, but I've tried figuring it out and I'm lost.

The middle section is taller because the pattern takes longer to make.  You should be able to simply repeat the 12 rows to either side unless they say otherwise (references in directions will tell you what row to end on).

Thanks, I looked at the chart again after some much needed rest and saw that the cable worked out to be on every 9th row.  It just wasn't clear to me after 32 hours awake lol.  I had originally thought that the cable would just repeat every 12 rows, but that would have put it on the wrong side on some rows.

I'm working on this, too.

I have found it helpful to use two separate row counters, one for the cable section and the other for the middle section.

If it weren't for the stitch counters I would have no idea where I had left off Smiley
