This would be brilliant, as long as it's in a fairly cheap yarn because I'd be sure to spill coffee all over it.

I just finished one!  It was super easy!  Thank you so much for the directions.  They were a cinch to follow.  I'm going to make a few more for present.  I would advise against the using Sensations Angel, as the little hairs seemed to have found their way into my coffee.  I think if I plan on using yarn again, I'll loose a couple of stitches on each side.
Here's an action shot:

Thanks again for the pattern!  It totally rocks!

This is such a clever idea.  I've never knitted anything in my life despite wanting to learn, so this is going to be my first attempt.  I'm assured it's an easy pattern to start out with so I'm going to have a stab at making one for my mother as a stocking filler (who knows, if it works out alright I might even knit the stocking!!).

Love!  This is the perfect project for me too!  I have cable fever in a bad way & don't have time to start the big honkin' cable sweater I have on deck to start - this ought to tide me over....

I am a little confused about what to do with the flap.  Did you stitch it in place?
