In order to participate in this swap, you MUST procure this type of 5" by 7" journal: http://www.dickblick.com/zz118/12/. It doesn't matter where you get it, but it must be this brand and size. Its item number is LNW102, and its ISBN is 0-7376-1534-6. (These numbers are off the black journal; the colored books may have slightly different numbers.) We will be gently opening up the spiral-type bindings of these books and sending a decorated page only to our partners. It is essential everyone have the same type of book so they can rebind their book at home. The theme for the pages will be "letters and numbers", but this is a very open theme. Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:

Details of swap:
Everyone will decorate the outside of their journal in any way they like, and post pics in our gallery. After the covers are done, you will be assigned a partner and you will send each other one decorated page from your book. The page should be decorated both front and back. You can either have them match, coordinate, or be totally different from each other. The back should have some artist info on it, such as your signature, your username, location and the date. There will be multiple rounds, so everyone will have a chance to swap with all participants. Officially, there will be 2 weeks between sends, but if you are a habitual early sender and someone else is "available" to swap with, you may choose to get assigned another partner sooner. You may elect to wait until the next official pairing, though. DCs will not be required, but please plan on resending if your page gets lost in the mail.

The link to Dick Blick is one place you can get the book, but I'm sure there are more sources. You may want to check around the web, or look in at your local art store. If you can't find one, you may want to pm someone you know and trust who's participating, and ask them about a private swap. Make sure you trust them, because there can be no angels for the private swaps for the journal that don't work out.
