Butterflies, Buttons, & Crochet--ah, life is good!

I wanted some new headbands, so I looked online for some patterns. The only ones I found were made of yarn. Although yarn is a good thing, it's not always the most practical fiber to use for a headband, especially if you want the band more for looks and to keep your hair back than for keeping your head warm.

So, I designed my own, named it The Grateful Thread (thanks to my witty husband!  Kiss ), and made two different variations of it, with a third in the making.

In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the fact that I like pink, this is the first one I made:

Then I decided since my daughter's school colors are gold and black, I needed one for that, too, and came up with something that could be dressy or casual:

I'll be making another as I tweak the pattern, and hopefully, I'll have it written out in a way others besides myself can understand by next week.

Mini granny squares are so cute to me-- a weird combination of granny chic and cutesy. I love them.

That beaded one is fabulous!

I agree - that looks great!  I'd be interested in your pattern, particularly with regard to joining the motifs - haven't quite worked out how to do that yet.
