I made this bag last Friday.  It was inspired by this bag http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=7365845 by homegrown skinny on etsy.

I embroidered the chickadee on this wool tweedlike material I got at a church thrift shop.

This is the back.  The tree and hedgehog fabric is from superbuzzy.com.  The plovers are from the marukai 98cent store.

the inside pocket

I made the (not actually cut on the bias) bias tape from material that was onsale at ikea.

I really like how it turned out but my stuff kind of keeps falling out of it when I put it down.  I guess I made the bottom part to shallow.  Maybe if I added a button closure it would keep my stuff inside better.

cute! i really like the embroidery and the use of different fabrics around it.  adds a lot of interest to the bag.  Definitely try a button or hook to help keep the bag closed so your secrets don't fall out.  Wink

That is a really really darling bag. Ikea has some really cool fabrics. I wish I had one closer to me.

Very Cute. I love those bags that look like a tank top at the top (that sounded weird....)
I like the fabric down the side and not the center....good idea!

Did you do the embroidery by hand? That bird is beautiful! Velcro would be an easy closure solution. Sweet bag!

Very cute! Love the embroidery and different fabrics. Definitely try a button or something; you don't want to lose your stuff.
