Great job on the scarf!  Looks GREAT for a first project.  Did you do 1x1 rib or is that stst with a slipped stitch at the beginning?

Wow - ditto on the good job for a 1st project Smiley  The colours are lovely, and I think that variegated yarn is good for a beginner as it breaks up the mass of repetitive stitches.

The pom poms are lovely - how did you attach them?   (Am I being daft again?)

Nice job ! I think you were absolutely right to use a nice yarn you liked knitting for your first project. Of course you could have choosen a cheaper one. Of course that would have been reasonable. But would you now be half proud of your cheap scarf as you are with this beautiful one ? Would you have even finished it ? To go cheap is tempting, but not with handcrafting. Your work and pain are the same whatever good or bad material you use. So if you knit, knit good yarn, if you sew, take good fabric. Better less than bad ! That sounds like granny's advice ! LOL ! Have fun with your next project.
