My husband and I bought our first house this summer and, after one trip to the Disney Store, I knew exactly what I wanted for our kitchen.

The tiny, but satisfying, kitchen:

Chef Gustav watches over my cooking.

The two shades I chose. I actually didn't plan on doing the border, but I layered the paint on way too thick and it was peeling really bad at the edges.

Disney's Emile spoon rest.

The Ratatouille recipe box.

Disney, again.

This pot holder rug was totally inspired by: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=116528.0 I highly recommend padding under the rug, because it can be very slippery!

Now, here is where I have saved the best for last. I can not take credit for this, as it goes to Disney and my mother-in-law.

All of the Ratatouille artwork is from The Art of Ratatouille. My mother-in-law totally free-handed them. She's amazing  Smiley

Well, that's my kitchen. I'm hitting "Post" now, and praying these pics work!

Thanks for looking!!!  Grin

That is amazing!!  I love the rug, but I think my favorite part is the little love note your husband left you on the dry-erase board!!  You are so lucky, I know because I have the same kind of husband.  Way to go on the kitchen, and your mother-in-law also did an amazing job on the freehand!!  She could have a business, especially the way people do their kids' rooms nowadays!!  Awesome!

That blue is a really nice color, it really brings out the colors of your cabinets and floors.  Most people might shy away from such bold colors, but I think it looks fantastic!  Great job to everyone involved!

Awwwwww... thanks everyone so much for your replies. I really appreciate all of your kind words Smiley

The kitchen was originally only a shade away from Halloween orange. It actually didn't look that bad, but it just didn't match anything... at all.  I still need to touch up a couple of orange spots near the edges.

My MIL has done a few paintings before - she said she actually painted on a fake window once for a lady who didn't have a kitchen window. She even painted little birds "outside" and everything. The crazy thing is, I've known her for almost seven years, and until this summer, I had no idea she even painted at all!

Anyways thanks again for the feedback!!!

I am so in love with your kitchen, it's not even funny.... The last time I went to Disneyland, I shopped and shopped and shopped for Ratatouille stuff, and they didn't have anything! I was so frustrated!  So your disney store had all that cool Ratatouille stuff?
