I'm purchasing a '74 amc gremlin to be my first art car. I've heard about tent kits that turn the back of your amc into a camper-type sleeping quarters and thought that would be a pretty cool addition. I can't find any online to customize, so I was wondering if any one had one or has seen one in person and possibly had any tips on how I could make my own.

Here's a photo I found online. It's actually a Hornet pictured here, but from what I've heard it's the same tent.

Hmmmm, I know the Cabela's company (www.cabelas.com) sells pick up truck versions, but the one pictured really fits the short length of that car. Then again Cabela's rocks my socks for outdoor gear that is downright luxurious.

Maybe start with a thrift store tent to re-con & go from there? I know you can get replacement spring tension poles too, makes starting a new tent way easier.
