Bonfire night is probably my second favorite holiday after Halloween.
Any craftsters from the U.K doing any parties?

This is going to be our first fireworks night in our new house, and the first time I will have entertained the family here. We have a fantastic garden now, so I'm hoping to plan a party for close family.

It really is going to have to be cheap and cheerful. I'm thinking I'll make some lanterns for the garden by punching holes in tin cans that I've seen here somewhere.

I'm not keen on the idea of having a bonfire on the lawn so I was thinking of making a fire pan by making a pac man shape out of steel and welding it together to make a shallow cone and then welding three steel rod legs on it to keep it off the grass and maybe make a mini guy.

We've got french doors leading out into the garden from the living room so I might do a small buffet there too.

Any other bright ideas?

Maybe some marzipan barrels filled with chocolate and topped with cocoa for the gunpowder?

Dunno much about Guy Fawkes, as I'm an American, so no brilliant ideas :/
