I really don't know what to dress as for Halloween.

I'm a short girl and I have shoulder-length platinum blonde hair.

I want something cute but somewhat modest(I'm not the most confident). Also something that not everyone is going to be wearing.

I can sew fairly well...

I'd rather not have to explain my costume to everyone, but a little obscurity is okay.

I was thinking Princess Peach but I'd need a Mario. Same with Jessie and James from Pokemon. Or Misty and Ash...and so on. I don't want anything that will require me to depend on someone else.

Thanks for any ideas you can give me. :]

EDIT: Ooh, also, I love rainbows so anything to do with that would be awesome too, if you have ideas

EDIT again: I've decided to be Rainbow Brite! Thanks for the help, all.

I'm just afraid that without Mario she wouldn't be recognizable enough.

I was searching for rainbow brite costumes for inspiration and I saw this: http://www.forwardedge.com/83090.jpg

Why must we ruin our squeaky clean childhood memories like that? Heh.

It won't be too hard to do...I just need to find either rainbow arm and legwarmers or some really stretchy rainbow fabric to make them myself. Some sort of 80s-tastic shiny blue dress that I can shorten and add the white trim to...Sweet.

Thanks for the idea, guys. :]

I'd skip the leg warmers and go right the the thigh high stockings--any lingerie sort of shop in town probably carries the leg avenue rainbow stockings; they're a sex shop staple.
Or, if you'd rather buy them on line...

i have some, and they are fab. have fun being rainbow brite!
(super easy arm warmers? another pair of stockings with the toes cut out. I do this to my stockings when they get old and worn.)

Oooh, thanks for the link. I could probably buy them at this store in my town. I'll just have to bring some friends with me...the guy who works there is uber-creepy. Haha.

If you cut out the toes to make arm warmers does it fray/unravel?
