I am new around these bulletin boards, but thought I'd start a thread for people who love to weave with beads!  (As do I!)

I have created many bead weaving projects... here are just a few:

Zen Flower Pendant

Same pendant in blue tones:

Hidden Pearl Bracelet

Cathedral Ring

Purple Baby Bracelet

Beaded Beads

Please share your weave projects here!
Thanks!!!

I've only recently discovered bead weaving. Haven't tried making something that is something. I'm just... Trying it out. Your stuff looks great and it gives me some ideas.

Thank you for checking out my links Smiley

The best material I have found for what I do is 4 lb. test fishing line!  (and it's cheap too!!!)

that is such an awesome tute!

fishing line doesn't end up getting worn from the edges of the beads at all? I always worried it would not hold up to rubbing...

I have plenty of fishing line around here, 10 pound I think though, so maybe I will give that a try

all my heart beads are threaded the other direction (top to bottom not side to side), wonder what will work as an alternative...

Love all your sparkles and designs. The purple baby bracelet is a favorite for sure, and my favorite color.

Ronda,
Actually, in order to create those instructions I had to draw the heart beads on their side.  The holes are in the center, so your beads will work PERFECT for this project!  Sorry for the confusion!

Also, 10lb fishing line is WAY TOO THICK for a bead weaving project... the thinner the better. The reasons are this: 1) your knots will NOT stay in thick fishing line (even if you try to glue them!) and 2) you go through the same bead multiple times when weaving, so the thinner the line is that you start out with the better!!!  (Trust me on this!  I've been stuck in a bead way too many times by using 6lb test!!!)

I've made many many projects, and never had the beads wear through the fishing line... remember in bead weaving the beads are all butting up against one another, there really is NO slack in the line once you are done.
I've only seen broken pieces due to wearer accident (ie. trying to put on a tight mitten while wearing a beaded ring!) or if a child gets a hold of the piece.  (...which is really game over for most jewelry.  LOL)

Hope this helps!
