Log +old chair==funkrustico throne!!

SO I had some old logs

and if you've seen any of my other  posts you might notice I have a thing for old chairs.
Put the two together and voila-a wonderful addition to the Chez Funkrustico back yard. Or maybe the front-I could sit and observe life on the block

I laughed out loud because of a very fond college memory when I saw your chair!

Several of us sculpture folks went drinking after a gallery opening (duh, we were in college!). Jeff proceeded to knock over & fall out of his chair not once but twice in the course of the evening. Monday we got a new assignment: make a piece of furniture or houshold item for only one purpose (like, a bathroom drawer with an insert that fits your toothbrush and nothing else).
So on the due date Dale brings in "Jeff's Drinking Chair", a tree stump from right down at the ground, with the top portion of a dining chair and a seatbelt attatched (the shoulder & hip front seat type no less). The base of the stump/chair was probably 4 1/2 feet across, definately no knocking it over, and it weighed a ton. Proff loved it & it stayed in the lab till the end of the semester when Jeff actually got to take it home.

Ahhh, good times, good times... Thanks for the memory!

I love that idea! I can totally picture my lonely bed having one of those. Varnish it, then carve some stuff into it. Thats ingenious.
