This brings back great memories and I love the needle felted one.  While I was watching the youtube clip I noticed that they looked like they were made from the cuff end of a chenille sweater sleeve.
Watch again and see if you don't think so.  Also does anyone remember those little party bugs on sesame street that would trash a place while the owners back was turned, everyone looks at me like I'm crazy when I mention them Roll Eyes

I saw this in the little pictures and I knew exactly what it was when i saw it, even partially cropped.  I said MIKE LOOK! and he said "YIP YIP YIP"

Clearly an excellent execution  Great choice of subject too.
