My friend since Jr High is making a big move from Michigan to California and I want to make her a sort of survival package (She's gonna be all alone without any friends or family around) ...Only what do I put in it? Bear in mind that I already moved from our home town to the UK so it can't be super heavy. (Shipping is costly!) Any ideas?

Envelopes, stationary, small photo album (make sure to put a pic of the two of you in it).  Stamps would be a good idea if you can get the kind you need.  An adress book with a collaged cover
=)   Maybe a small pillow with a phot transfer

Thanks so much for the great ideas. I'll definitely be including a photo from her trip to visit me in the UK. I like the idea of lots of stationary but she isn't the writing letters type, really. She's moving to CA to hopefully fufill her dream of being a screen writer so there will be pen and paper included! Photo transfer pillow cases sound like a great idea too! Maybe of her favourite stars...Hmmm. Any other ideas?

Make an address book (designt he pages on your pc & make copies on yopur printer or at a copy shop, if you dont do book binding copy shops do that too)... make sure there is space for email & chat names & address.
You can put some sily stuff in there HollyWood insiders info ...  a fav star or maybe the contac info for a few agents  ....
Photoshop a pic of her infront of the hollywood   or Bevery Hills sign?
