It seems like scarflette is a relatively new term. To me, it is basically a mini scarf that is often buttoned.  The scarflette was inspired by this discussion :http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=197489.0.

The gloves came from Erika Knights book Classic Knits.
I used US size 2 needles for the ribbing, and US size 3 for the rest. The yarn is KnitPicks Swish Superwash in Clematis Heather (1 ball) and Coast Gray (2 balls) . The only mod I made to the pattern was knitting the body in the round to avoid seams (going back, I would also knit the fingers in the round, but, I didnt on these). I also ended up picking up more stitches than called for when starting each new finger. I just decreased in the next row to get it back to the pattern.

The scarflette is my own pattern (if you can call it a pattern), worked on US size 8 needles, and using the two colors from the gloves held together.  Its all seed st (moss st). The buttonholes were made using yo yo, followed by p2sso (any double decrease would work). It used up all three balls of yarn to make the gloves and scarflette.
