I like that smocking idea! The straps don't really stretch too much on this one so it wouldn't be much different on a woven.

The back doesn't really slump too much, I think it's because of how it's cut and the fact that I have junk in my trunk Smiley

Nice top!

The back is probably puckering because (a) your pattern needs a sway back adjustment, or (b) your pattern needs a big buttocks adjustment. Not that you have big buttocks, but they might be big in comparison to your tiny waist  Smiley   Despite the negative-sounding names, both adjustments are just to make paper patterns fit real bodies and not any sort of judgement! If you google "swayback adjustment" you'll find a whole lot of tips.
