I found the link to the original version of this hat. The one I found on "Crochet by the hook" I noticed that AargghMatey's patterns not up right now, so I'm adding this link for anyone who wants it. the only difference between the two is one fewer row of puffs/bobbles here. http://bythehook.blogdrive.com/archive/91.html

here's my slouchy hat. It's a very funny story, at least to me for how this hat came to be. I printed out a bunch of hat patterns about 2 weeks ago from various locations on the internet. Then one day last week, I found the topic posted on craftster here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=195823.0 by ArrghMatey   (there's a link to her pattern there). Anyway my friend who I taught to crochet and I were going on about how we were gonna have to make one of them.

That same night I went home, and pulled a hat pattern out of my stack, at random mind you, and started working on it. (you can probably see where this is going) I didn't really even look at it except to make sure I was following the stitches correctly cause I was watching a movie. Anyway, I got to the second row of puffs/bobbles and really looked at it and said to  myself, "wait a minute? Isn't that the hat from today" I dug out the pattern I'd printed from ArrghMatey's blog and, lo and behold, It was the hat, except hers had an extra row of bobbles, which I immediately put into mine! I call it crafting destiny. Its like I was meant to make this hat.

And here it is.

Sorry the front pics a liitle blurry. Sad

CUTE! It looks great with your hair. I want to make one of these, so you think it can be done in one night of watching tv?

Well, it took me about 2 1/2-3 hours, but it took my friend a day. She's a fairly new hooker, so it takes hera little longer. It just depends on how fast you crochet. I know I did the entire front of this shirt in one day, so it's kinda relative. Should take too long though. There are only about 20 rows and at it's largest, it's only about 60 stitches around.
