Settlers of Catan

I love that not a single person in my "real" world has ever heard of Settlers of Catan -- but here at Craftster, there's an entire subcommunity of players!

This is our favorite game and I've always said I was going to make my own version of it. One day I will! I really love yours!

What I like about what you did (besides it looking awesome) is that it looks like it is much less likely that the pieces would move around, which can also happen. 

As a side note, a fun thing to do (and totally dorky) is to make a Settlers soundtrack.  Songs that go with pieces of the game.  Such as "She's a Brickhouse", "We built this city", "Fields of Gold", "Riding through the desert on a horse with no name", etc.  It makes for even more fun when playing the game!

As a HUGE settlers fan, I must tell you, you've done something horrible to me.
You've made me want to create a 3D version of this game.
That I can't even afford to buy. Because I can't go doing that to my original set!

AWESOME! I agree that the version I have now looks "stale", that's the perfect word for it. I used to have a different version, one where the pieces had a bit more of a updated look to them, but when someone was selling their 5-box set of catan game plus multiple expansions for $40, I returned mine to Barnes&Noble, and ran out to trade the $40 with him in a hot second. ONLY drawback was that my new set(s) looks really different.

But you've re-inspired me to do something about it myself!!  I'll have no problem with 'defacing' my only game set, since I'm not partial to the way it looks in the first place.
