a few days ago I made a bag for myself, I wanted a big bag, that matches almost everything cause i don't like to change bags in the morning ( or mmm lets say i don't have time in the mornings to change bags before work  Tongue ) anyway, a friend at the office loved my bag and asked for one like mine, but BIGGER ( mine was kind of big ) so here are the samples, hope you like it, now I have 3 more to do, for a classmates of mi office friend.

and this was mine:

*******if you use the tutorial on page 3 please i'd love to have some samples of your work so i can send it to penny the girl that made the tutorial.. she's always happy to see what we do with her tutorial.  Grin****

I love this bag!! This shape is one of my favorites in a bag... It looks like it would be awesome for a bag to carry a sketchbook and pencils and whatever else you needed. Great work!

Cute! I want one now!

Also, I completely love how you showed the scale of the bag. Is that something that can be done in GIMP or Photoshop? That seems like a much better idea than taking crummy old pics of myself!

the original tutorial asks to use a lining, but since I'm mexican and havent hear that word before, i dindn't know what interfacin was, so i used none.. the handles are 2 shets of fabric stitched together..  i have to ask if i can link  the tutorial for the bag to my friend.. and if so.. i'll link it here.

yes the flowers are crochet with a very thick thread.. that's why they are so big. and i did a coin of fabric.. i don't know how else to call the fabric circles of the flower..  Huh and i attached everything with wooden buttons.

Yes, a tute of the bag would be great! Also, i'm a little technically challenged, can you tell me how you outlined a pic in photoshop and then added the pic of the bag at the right size? I don't get it... Huh

the bag is really beautiful.
How long are the handles. 20x14 is large but the handles look short in the picture.
I want to make one of these pleated bags so would like to see a tutorial also. -nice job

hello, tanks everybody for such a nice comments. i'm a begginer so this is very cool.  Smiley

here is the link for the tutorial that my friend penny made:

http://sewtakeahike.typepad.com/sewtakeahike/2007/09/green-wool-br-2.html

and for the people that have been asking How i did the picture of the girl, and how i  made the  bag fit, here are some pics of how i made it. I work with Photoshop, but you can use any other software that lets you edit pics.

1st i open an image of a silhouette that you like, erase the background.

2nd i selected the silhouette and filled it with color desired.

3- make an outline to the silhouette, and here is the first part done.

4.- in order for the arm to apear on the filles silhouette, y copied the original image and earse everything but the arm.

5.- and apply the same steps before, select and fill.

6.- import the image of the bag, resize it an place it in front of the silhouette, you can do a) erased the bag just down the arm, b) or is easy to just put the arm fille before in fron of the bag, to make it look real. ( I don't know why i did the other way Huh)

here is an example of how i erased the arm over the bag, to place it in front.

7 finally, just add some background color, and done.

i hope is not so hard to understand..  Wink
