So is anyone else lusting after the Tardigan? Roll Eyes

http://reina-isabella.livejournal.com/19414.html

I so badly want to make this, but there is no pattern available!!

I'm tempted to try my hand at charting out words. I'm a novice knitter, but I don't think it could be that difficult to do the bottom part of the sweater. Any ideas or suggestions?

OH SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!
That's amazing!!!!!!!!
I want one! But with waist shaping and more of a collar.
The windows are the easy part. The words wouldn't be that hard. Just use the pictures as a guideline.

Hi! I showed this link to my super knitter/Doctor Who fan friend and she realized that the London Calling sweater pattern in SnB Nation is the perfect shape for this - more fitted and not so flashdance-y. So using that she put together a chart for me to do the intarsia based on the pattern. Once I get it in the mail and knit it up I'll post here. I'll also find out if she would mind if I posted the pattern. She said she made some changes to  make it more fashionable so it won't be exactly like the one from the link.

I am going to use Lion Brand Microspun yarn instead of the mohair which was a suggestion I found posted by the woman to designed the London Calling sweater. I knitted a swatch of the letter O last night, to see what duplicate stitch vs intarsia would look like. Intarsia wins. Here is a pic:

That would rock! I love the concept behind a TARDIS sweater, but the 80's off the shoulder thing wasn't really doing it for me either.  Roll Eyes

Thank you!

I'm thinking I need to just go to the store and buy the yarn for this. By the time I get to the top of the sweater, I can worry about figuring out the letters part.  Wink
