I was so happy with this little "vintage" cat I made for my partner in the vintage Halloween swap that I just had to post it here. It was inspired by the art of Johanna Parker.

The head and container are paper mache items I purchased at Michaels. I made the ears out of fimo clay and glued them on with E6000 glue. (Is there anything that glue can't do?) The paper his hat is made of and on the box is just plain old scrapbook paper, inked a bit on the edges to give it an old look. I even inked his little pompom because it looked too new. His head is painted with acrylics, and there is a bit of a black pipe cleaner as a "neck" to make it easier to attach the head to the base.

I'm going back to Michaels today to get supplies to make another one. I had a hard time putting this one in the mail.

Happy Halloween!

"Stressed" is "desserts" spelled backwards.

I always end up freaking out the neighbors by putting up scary decorations at the end of October and wearing all black and orange on H-day. I think Halloween has been the hardest habit to break from my childhood in the US.
