So a few weeks ago at SnB, I got the opportunity to flip through Cat Bordhi's new book, New Pathways for Sock Knitters, and it completely blew my mind! (I am such a knitting nerd that a sock book got me so wildly excited, but there you go)

After much drama I finally got my hands on a copy, and recently completed my first set of trial baby socks. Yay! These are the little learning Coriolis socks, knit out of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted, and modeled by my remarkably tolerant 10-month-old son.

The pair:

Modeled so you can see the fancy symmetrical spirals:

Totally in love with these little socks!

So is anyone else working on this book? I did a search and couldn't find any other messages about it. I'd love to do a knitalong for this book if anyone's interested...

Thanks for looking!  Grin

I love them!  I've just recently started knitting socks and can totally understand your addiction.  Cheesy

I bought that book, too!  It's so amazing, isn't it?  Unfortunately, I spilt my water bottle in the bag I had the book in so it's all messed up!  I can still use it though.  I haven't made anything yet.  I've just been looking at it.  I have a couple of WIP's to finish then I'll start the little socks you just made.  They are so cute and I love the colors of that yarn.  Your son's little legs are so cute, too!   Cheesy

Those are so beautiful, and I love the action shot!
I saw her make those on Knitty Gritty, and they're cool socks. When my skills are ready, I want to try them. CB is so cool.

I saw her make them on Knitty Gritty, too, and thought they were amazing!  I haven't bought the book yet (I didn't realize it was out already!), but plan to even though I've never knit a pair of socks yet in my life.  Knit plenty of other stuff, just never interested in socks until I saw these.

ANYHOW, they look great and I'm so happy to see that someone's knit them!  Great job, and I agree with kelliz, lil' baby legs are adorable. Smiley

I saw her on Knitty Gritty too - twice.  She is kind of off the wall and I really don't like to watch her for some reason, BUT MAN DOES SHE ROCK.  The things that come out of her mind amaze me.

You did a great job with those socks.  I actually didn't want the book, but seeing those...I'm rethinking that idea.  Smiley

I'm going to try her socks that were on Knitty Gritty.  I just inherited a truckload of sock yarn from a neighbor and this seems like a good project.

Thanks for all the great compliments Smiley The socks ended up going to a friend who has a baby girl two months older than my son, and she seemed pretty excited about them, so I'm hoping they get some good use.

Now I'm about 2/3 done with the first sock of a pair of Bartholomew's Tantalizing Socks. Loving them!

C'mon, people, come play!  Grin

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that book! I do have to admit that it doesn't help my single-sock issue much though. I'm such a sock nerd that I couldn't wait to get knitting! If you want to do a KAL, I'd be in.
