Thread ????

I wanting to get an embroidery machine so I can add embroidered designs to the clothing that I make.  So I am asking those of you who have embroidery machines, what kind of thread do you use, and what kind you don't like.  Thanks for any and all input!!

I use polyester/rayon/nylon threads, but I love nylon thread the most.

I am very into cloth diapering my kids, so I have 100% polyester embroidery thread for that. i am using threadelight thread.

i have them stored in this that I made little plastic canvas dividers for so they don't shift around.


(I have 3 of those containers.)

I use poly as well and I get it at my local store - if you buy 20 of them they give you the plastic storage container - and they are only $2 a spool I believe for 1100m.  They also sell the 5000m big spools for $3 or 3 for $5!

I also wind my own bobbins because I am too cheap for prewound.
There I said it!  I am too cheap for prewound - yeah, people swear by them saying they last longer but the bobbin thread I bought on ebay was almost double the yardage than the prewound ones with the shipping included so I will continue to wind my own!

The tidbits left over in the bobbins I use in my sewing machine now - it's great for when you have just a little bit of something you have to sew...

WOW!!!  organization intriques me!  I am not , but am always trying.  If you have time, in between dirty diapers, organizing, crafting, nuturing your family and all the other things you do could you post a pic of how the plastic canvas is in there?  please?!  Thanks!  And is it very stable?  Thanks for the inspiration!!!! 
I will also be snooping on you to see if there are any pics of your cloth diapers...maybe for #2 with me...maybe...

No problem!  I already made a tutorial up for the diaper board i hang out on so i'll just find it and copy/paste it here. . .  found it!

ETA:  The plastic containers are from Walmart - in the cake storage aisle - they are for cakes/cookies, etc.  They are approx $5 each.

You will need 4 pieces of 'regular' sized plastic canvas.  I'd suggest buying an extra piece 'just in case'.

I had an 'ah-ha' moment as I put the thread in the organizer - the little corners that are currently empty, I bet would work AWESOMELY! to hold your bobbins.

I have a Brother PR600II and use nothing but poly thread. I personally like ARC, Madera, and Marathon. I buy the Big 5000m King cones of the colors that I use alot in my work, and I have tons of it.
