I love it!  What stitch did you use?

The skin & dress are split stitch.  The hair was my first attempt at stem stitch, which I liked doing a lot. http://www.chroniclebooks.com/site/catalog/excerpts.php?isbn=0811843211&store=books

The wings were actually back stitched in light purple and I decided it wasn't dark enough, so I put in some dark purple in split stitch.
