okay, so i've got my site up and running, but now i need to try and get people to visit it.
i've listed my site in ibuyDIY (thank-you) and i've got various people to link me. i tried to list on bust but it never eventuated. (i'm going to try again).
BUT does anyone know of anywhere else to list my site?
thanks, rhiannon xx <3

i'm in the same boat. i submitted my info to ibuydiy.com and i've plugged it in some of my livejournal communities. i'm trying to stick to "free advertising" until i get the bugs worked out. then i'll be buying ad-space online and in a few magazines.
link exchange sites are also good way to go.

Always a good idea to list it with all the free search engines.  Type in "Search engine" in google, then just start clicking through.  A lot want you to pay, but plenty do it for free, too.

Another option is webrings.  Go to www.webring.com and look under "crafts" and see about joining some of those webrings.  Also, you could start a webring for craftster members to like their websites together for more purchasing power...

A pricy way to go is to open an account with Overture but I don't suggest that for most people.

Make sure that your meta tags are inplace... That the title of your page mentions "crafts" "bunnies" whatever it is you are selling. And mention that word and similar ones on the site itself in simple html code bolding or H1ing them... try to use text instead of graphics for your words.

PS: have a page on your site for links back to people who link to you (nonconflicting interests)... that raises your standing too.

I totally recomend linking with other indie shops! Not only does it improve your listing but you get to meet some really great people.
