So Many Crafts, So Little Time...

« on: September 14, 2007 11:39:18 AM »

I started this a lap quilt a while ago, but finished it today. I machine sewed the top and tied it. I didn't have a pattern, so made up the 4 patch little squares, then laid the whole thing out on the floor. Which is why I had to use the conference room at the office for the tying, cause my hubby does not like me quilting on the floor.  Roll Eyes  (He is afraid he's going to get a needle in his foot!)

All the fabrics are from my stash, and some have some really nice memories with them.  Such as the blue flowers on yellow fabric is left over material from my sister's kitchen curtains and cushions.  The star fabric is from my nephew's first Easter outfit. Others, are from my Mom's sewing projects. Some of the squares are left overs from the first quilt I tackled.  I am hoping someday to be a Mom, and then this quilt will be given to my child.  Just because I like the idea of being able to say "And that fabric is from....".

Anyway here she is...

I think of sunshine every time I look at it, so that's why I call it that.

Thanks in advance for any comments!

Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice. - Robert Frost

I love that, when quilts have memory fabrics.  They're so much fun forever.

Wow that's really pretty.  It reminds me of Provence, love the way the blues and yellows work together.
