cherry blossom pendant- finally getting the hang of shrinky dinks

After a few mis-steps and experiments, I am finally getting the hang of shrinky dinks. I am on the bandwagon!


I stamped the image, then traced it with sharpie on the clear (not frosted) side, because I prefer the hand-drawn look.  I colored with pencil on the frosted part, including coloring a white background.  After punching, cutting, and baking, I used Krylon Triple...a couple of very fine, thin coats to prevent smearing, and then some thick coats for the glossy coat (which doesn't show up too well).  Then some pearls and wire wrap, and voila!  After some melting, smearing, and other boo-boos along the way, I am pleased!

I'm cruising around for shrinky inspiration today (I keep meaning to take the plunge, but can never find the right project), and this is exactly the sort of thing I was hoping to find! It's a really beautiful result.
