If I want to make a costume like this one, how should I attach the knives to make it durable and comfortable?

hmmm my take on it is that if you don't mind making a couple of holes in your dress, you can attach the knifes like one of those pins in the file folders. Put some duct tape (for extra durability) or masking tape down the sides of the prop near the end, put that end of it through the hole, and then spread the tape out onto the dress...i think those clips are called butterfly clips or something.

Sounds weird, but it's 1:30 in the morning XD

they have the ones that are just the handles without the blades that have a magnet on the other side and it looks as though they are going through you,i would do a bit of a stick around or something maybe a tab...i will find you a link for them they are not expensive i think we got ours 3 pack for like 8 bucks or something...anyway if you didnt want to do that just trace a knife on some cardboard and paint it silver and cut it out and do something with that it would be really light weight and you could just sew it in!

good luck!

Haha, I'm making this costume too. >.<

I'm planning on doing exactly what the first poster said - split the blade of a couple of fake knives and pop them through a slit in the dress. Secure 'em and add some fake blood and you're done. Can't wait til the dress I've bought arrives and I can get going on this.

I'm going to look into those magnetic ones, though. They sound cool. Unfortunately, I'm in Scotland, where Halloween isn't as big a deal, so I might be out of luck.

Post pictures when you're done making this and we can compare costumes. >.< Good luck!

My sister bought this costume a few years ago.
The way it worked was there were hole in the dress, the handles were seperate.
The handle ended in flesh colored rubbery plastic that was fanned out. You were supposed to use that same kind of adhesive you use for prosthetic makeup to attach them.
I don't know if it was comfortable though.. She just used the dress to make a different costume..
