I love the floor!! when you said you painted them black I first thought "why?!" especially after I saw the before picture, but they look great! I'm jealous! You should post some follow up pics when you get all of the little things finished so we can see it all!

Love it!  I totally love the black cabinets and would have done the same.  I so want butcher block countertops too!  Incredible job on those floors! What patience!

do you live in an older house? that nasty "before" floor looks JUST like what i had to go through in my apartment (built in 1912). but you know, there are tons of orbs and shadows floating around in your pictures, especially the 6th one. it's kind of deliciously creepy.

i love what you did to the place, though. extra high fives for not modernizing it.  yay!

Our house was built around 1900 - and about the orbs and shadows, sorry to disappoint, but thats just dust from sanding the floor.  Wink

I totally did NOT want to overly modernize - part of the reason we went with black cabinets was to blend in the stove and dishwasher and microwave.

I love the work you have done! The colors are great. I am quite jealous.

Those hard wood floors are freakin' amazing.  So beautiful!  Are they bamboo?

Wow, what an awesome kitchen you've got yourself there! It's a lovely size aswell, lucky you. I'm in agreement with you about the black units - good choice.

How gorgeous!  I'm impressed.  That floor must have taken so much work but wow, worth it!  And the black cabinets look great!
