A long time ago my mom and I went to Joanns to get some yarn. This yarn was on sale and my mom liked it (Huh) so she bought two balls of it for me to make into a scarf for her.

So, a year later I found this yarn again and want to get rid of it already! I don't want to do garter stitch though, but still want to show off the yarn and not make it too busy/crazy.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Best stitch to use for ribbon yarn/to show off the yarn itself is drop stitch.

A couple ideas:
Can't remember what it's called, but garter stitch two rows, wrap yarn around needle 2 or 3 times, then garter stitch two rows. Nice and lacy.

Or, you could do a YO k2tog across for one row, plain purl or knit for the second row, then the YO k2tog again.

I would try that, but whenever I do drop stitch the first and last stitch of every drop stitch is wonky.

I might swatch this one to see.

Ooo, I really like the seafoam scarf.

Thanks guys!

The seafoam scarf didn't turn out too well. Too loose.

I'm going to try the YO k2tog one next.

It's okay. I know what you're talking about. I hate seed stitch though and it wouldn't show off in this yarn because it has little pom poms in it. Thanks for the suggestion though!
